Whilst many guests choose to spend the majority of their time in Scotland's Western Highlands, the North East arguably has as much if not more to offer for those wishing a different Scottish perspective. Providing an experience away from the traditional tourist routes and attractions to some hidden gems along roads less travelled in this under-rated and often overlooked region.
Our North East 300 route offers a circuit style tour in a similar vein to the North Coast 500. The North East 300 tour takes in a combination of breath-taking glaciated mountain vistas amongst the UK's largest National Park, the fabulously diverse North Sea coastline offering everything from clifftop castles and quaint fishing settlements, soaking up the salubrious surroundings of the Royal Family's Highland retreat, visiting the distilleries where Scotland's most quintessential whisky brands are created before rounding off your trip with a trip to the ancient home of the sport of golf.
The North East 300 tour can be tailored to depart from anywhere across Scotland's central belt and takes the form of a three day tour encompassing the wonderful regions of Perthshire, Grampian, Speyside, Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Angus and Fife.
Our proposed three day route takes in scenic and historic highlights including the unique landscapes and wildlife of The Cairngorm mountain range, the highly photogenic and historically intriguing Dunnottar Castle, the traditionally styled fishing villages of Fife and Angus, the Balmoral Estate where the Royal family traditionally holiday, Scotland's archetypal whisky production region of Speyside and the beautiful town of St Andrews.
Whilst this proposed route is achievable in three days it offers great scope to be integrated into a larger scale tour or to include other sites of interest elsewhere in the country.
